SUMMARY:Growing the Next Generation of Urban Forestry Leaders
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the UCFS Learning Series – generously supported by Bartlett Tree Experts! \nTomorrow’s urban forests depend on the seeds we plant today—and the passion we inspire in our next generations. This webinar showcase creative\, proven programs that connect youth with the knowledge and skills needed to care for and champion our urban canopy. \nDiscover how a Youth Forest Council in Austin\, Texas is driving tree planting in the neighborhoods that need it most\, how TreeQuest in Boise\, Idaho is turning students into tree inventory champions\, and how a school-based nursery in Union County\, North Carolina is growing shade—and future leaders. \nFrom big-picture planning to growing and planting trees alongside students\, these innovative initiatives will highlight how urban forest education\, public service\, and workforce development can build a more inclusive\, skilled\, and resilient workforce and remove barriers to careers in urban forestry. By opening pathways to leadership and career opportunities\, these programs not only strengthen communities but also ensure the long-term care of our urban forests. \nPacked with real-world examples and actionable strategies from a panel of speakers with first-hand experience\, this session will spark fresh ideas to educate\, engage\, and equip youth to lead the way in building greener\, healthier communities—our future urban forests begin with the seeds we plant today. \nISA CEUs applied for and pending. \nRegister today!
