SUMMARY:Pathways to Equity: Empowering Communities Through Environmental Justice & Inclusive Urban Forestry
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an inspiring webinar on driving meaningful\, community-led change through environmental justice and inclusive urban planning! \nLearn how understanding disparities rooted in historical urban design can lay the groundwork for equitable urban and community forestry initiatives. \nDiscover the power of the Urban Forestry and Environmental Justice Playbook in helping cities reimagine urban forests and address legacies of environmental inequality. In this session\, we’ll explore the Playbook’s framework for tackling environmental disparities\, drawing on the City of Syracuse’s long-standing partnership with community-based urban forestry organizations. We’ll dive into successful coalition-building strategies for addressing challenges like uneven tree canopies including how to engage residents in community-centered public science and foster resilient urban forests. \nThe City of Syracuse will share hands-on tools and strategies for engaging communities and forming impactful partnerships and coalitions. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical skills to empower your community and drive sustainable change for a healthier\, more equitable future! \nAdditional details coming soon. ISA CEUs will be applied for. \nRegister Here!
